Summer - Fall
2007 Edition
We
are making so many new improvements on our farm it’s hard to tell you
them all... so have started newsletters. We hope this will keep you
up to date on
new products, our farm, commonly asked questions, Recipes, and more!!!
Current News
Last year’s
weather convinced us into building a green house. Inside our new green
house is not just beautiful plants... We will now be growing hydroponicly.
Hydroponics
is growing plants in 100% water (H2O). It is in a way, organic. It
also always has that same wonderful vine ripened taste. We will be having
Hydroponic educational
classes for schools and groups throughout our season, so call us soon.
Just to list just a few advantages of growing hydroponicly, it will extend
our season,
making us capable of selling our produce longer, and satisfying each
and every one of your taste bud at least twice as long!
As you may have
noticed we are starting to get into more and more unique and different
products. We are also trying to make all of our products
more welcoming. And so we will supply you with as much information
as possible on each type of produce. If something sounds scrumchise and
yummy but you don't
know how to cook with it... ask us for a recipe. We will be more than
happy to give you some of our little hints and tips on cooking.
Last year we
wanted to put up a maze, which we had designed, by Kaitlyn Sirna, but
all that weather didn’t let us finish the actual structure... so this
year plan on a corn maze... for the kids and adults. But if it were
anything like we had planned last year...I would start practicing which
ways to go now!!
New Products
As you may know,
we ended our season with bringing in more new products just like our
Sweet Horseradish Pickles. (Which if you didn’t try, what are you
waiting for?) These products are our Kosher Spears, Pickled Tomatoes,
and Sour Krought. Also Kaitlyn began making hemp jewelry, and has recently
started making
stamped products and other wonderful crafts! These products may
contain cards, journals, notepads, and more!! Now I personally know that
everyone will like
another new item we will have this year. Its number one fan is
children, but I'm sure it will bring back fun moments of your childhood.
I am sure it will
create new memories for the children today also. You probably
know what this item is. We are going to have old-fashioned candy. I personally
cannot wait for
it to come in! One of my favorites, which we will be getting
in, is Flying Saucers or UFOs! Remember Them?
The Farm
I am proud to
say I became a mother and a grandmother this February. Now I’m only 12
so this may seem a little odd. Three years ago I decided I wanted to
breed
cattle for raising
beef stock and for raising cattle for 4-H,
so my father, Craig, bought me a female cow, MaMaMooMoo.
So we then breed her and received 1 beautiful little
girl whom is grown up known as Lil’ Lady! Now
since she was born on our farm I got to spend a
lot of quality time with her every day. I took
her to The
Great Geauga County Fair 2 times. She is like a
dog she is so friendly. My dad Craig goes out
in the field and just gives her hugs. So then when
she was
old enough we breed her along with MaMaMooMoo.
Then they both had little girls. Lil’ Lady had
her little girl first. Her name is Daisy. I named
her that because
we sometimes call lady, Lilly and that’s a type
of flower and so is daisy. Then MaMaMooMoo had
her baby. We named her Mia because of the song
Mama Mia....
here I go again. And so now we have 4 little girls
to
breed every year. But only Lady and Mama are old
enough this year to be having a baby! I just don’t
know what we will do if we have two more girls!
